You've got access, now what? Take a second to grab some UserData files. They are located in Hotline Server 1.2.3 PPC ƒ:Server FolderUsers:Name:UserData. The Name folder is the name of the account. There is one folder per account and inside each folder is the UserData file for that account. Do I really need to say that you should definitely grab the admin UserData file/files?Open them up in ResEdit or Resorcerer. You will only find one resource- <DF>. It's really not a resource (Which you would think it is because you are using a 'resource' editor). It's really the file's DataFork. Open it up and you'll see something like this: ``
Final Test Finaltest ñóêèöãóñåàêçîå Therer may be some other garbage in there too. Just ignore it, this is the important stuff. In this example, "Final Test" is the name of the account, "Finaltest" is the login (Which is not case sensitive BTW), and "ñóêèöãóñåàêçîå " is the encrypted password.Copy the encrypted password and paste it into HotDecrypt. HotDecrypt will do all the work and you don't have to know how it works but I'm going to tell you anyway. In order to decrypt it, HotDecrypt takes each character and converts it to it's ascii number equivalent. It then subtracts 255 from the ascii number. It takes the absolute value of the result of the previous equation and returns it's ascii character equivalent. Let's say you want to change the password of the admin account. (Yes, it would be easier if you used the admin password to log onto the server using Hotline and then change the password but what if you're hacking the server on site? What if it's not over the net? For this reason and for the possibility that there are other uses for this ability, I decided to include it.) Type the new password into HotDecrypt and hit "Encrypt". copy the encrypted password and paste it over the previous password using Resorcerer.Enjoy....
